The evening at the Kraków Opera will warm us up against the January cold: the leading motif of the Carnival Concert …Time Changes Everything will be tango! Love, desire, betrayal, longing and passion enchanted in music come from Libertango and Oblivion – the most famous works by the master of the tango Astor Piazzolla – and hits of the Polish interwar period penned by Jerzy Petersburski.
And since it takes two to tango, the concert also features operatic duets from Bizet’s Carmen, Donizetti’s L’elisir d’amore and Puccini’s La bohème and Tosca. Performers include Iwona Socha, Tomasz Kuk, Michał Kutnik and Adam Sobierajski, with special guest the poet, essayist, critic and translator Bronisław Maj. The tango rhythms resound at the Kraków Opera on 20 January. ¡Ay, carrramba! Feeling hot Hot HOT! (Barbara Skowrońska)
