SCRATCH MASTERS
For the eleventh time, the finest DJs from around the globe flock to Kraków. The IDA World DJ Championships are regarded as the best competition of its kind. As usual, participants battle it out in two categories: technical and show. Favourites include the Mixfitz team from Belgium; Japanese DJs can always spring a surprise, but the one to watch this year is the debuting 14-year-old DJ K-Swizz from New Zealand. Of course we’ll be supporting Polish representatives: URE in the technical category and Pac1 and Kostek in the show category. On 2 December, ICE Kraków hosts a spectacular display of turntablism from JFB (UK), BeatBombers (Portugal) and ND and Odilon (Belgium). A highlight of this year’s event will be the concert by O.S.T.R., accompanied by visualisations prepared by DJ Haem.
The evening gig is preceded by free events including DJ workshops, equipment tests and Poland’s largest scratch session. And if you’re up for more, there is the nighttime afterparty Red Bull 3Style Showcase at Forum Przestrzenie. (AJ)
