Open your eyes… and take a fresh look at Polish culture, suggest the organisers of the Open Eyes Festival. So what is there to see? We are taken into the imagination of Zdzisław Beksiński by Art Color Ballet with the spectacle Cryptonym 27, choreographed by Agnieszka Glińska. Dorota Miśkiewicz’s concert PIANO.PL pays homage to Polish jazz pianism. The vocalist’s guests are Włodzimierz Nahorny, Piotr “Pianohooligan” Orzechowski, Michał Tokaj and the Atom String Quartet. Wojtek Mazolewski has invited John Porter, Wojciech Waglewski, Misia Furtak, Piotr Zioła and Vienia to join his project Chaos Filled with Ideas to bring out the full effect of poetry and madness. During the spectacle Chopin Without Piano, director Michał Zadara brings together theatre and a symphonic concert, while actress Barbara Wysocka performs a literary transcription of the piano parts of both of Chopin’s concertos accompanied by the Sinfonietta Cracovia orchestra. Space for Art is filled with presentations of paintings, prints and drawings by Leszek Misiak and his students from the Academy of Fine Art in Kraków. Watch and listen! (Barbara Skowrońska)
