The third St Mary’s Organ Festival brings many concerts to the Gothic basilica and reveals the potential of the church’s three instruments.
The cycle kicks off on 11 July with a recital by Ernst Wally, organist at St Stephen’s Cathedral in Vienna. The artist performs music by Bach, Mendelssohn and Bibl. The following two concerts step beyond presentations of solo organ music. On 18 July, the Italian organist Eugenio Maria Fagiani is joined by Wacław Turek on accordion, while on 25 July we will hear Bogdan Narloch accompanied by Roman Gryń on trumpet.
The cycle of concerts at St Mary’s Church continues in August and the first half of September – featuring Jennifer Pascual, musical director at St Patrick's Cathedral in New York (1 August) and Peter Kofler, organist at the Munich Cathedral of Our Lady, whose recital forms a part of the celebrations of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation (5 September).
