THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE UGLY
It was 1991 and my estate developed an obsession with cable TV – exactly when MTV gave five minutes of fame to insolent, long-haired Californians and their Everything About You. Ugly Kid Joe soon showed they meant business with their cover of Harry Chapin’s ballad Cat’s in the Cradle. The group released their last album in 1996 and a year later the lads parted their ways for 13 years to work on other projects. They returned in 2010 with an EP, but we had to wait even longer for more material. In the meantime they reminded Polish fans of their existence with an excellent concert at Woodstock. Now they appear in Kraków, and they are still promoting their 2015 album Uglier Than They Used ta Be. The band doesn’t take itself too seriously and they play catchy hard rock – not bad, eh? (AJ)
