Alice Oswald is a contemporary British poet well-known for pushing into new linguistic terrain. However, she says her work is more a translation of other voices than original writing. Magdalena Heydel, Oswald's translator into Polish, will discuss her poems and her concept of the return to oral poetry.

MAGDALENA HEYDEL is one of Poland's most distinguished philologists and translators. Her academic interests range from the history of English literature to the theory of literary translation. Translating both poetry and prose, she has made the works of Joseph Conrad, Virginia Woolf, Seamus Heaney, T.S. Eliot and Ted Hughes available in Polish.
