Live Screenings
Pod Baranami Cinema is preparing a real celebration of independent cinema! The IFFR Live – 46th International Film Festival in Rotterdam (27-29 January) features five pre-premiere screenings of films from the festival programme, shown on the same day and at the same time as in Rotterdam. Kraków’s filmgoers are also invited to attend live transmissions of meetings with filmmakers. The programme includes stories of young people entering adulthood and searching for their own place in the world. The Giant introduces a disabled young man, estranged from his mother, who tries to win over her love and attention by playing boules. In A Wedding (dir. Stephan Streker), a Pakistani-born teenager Zahira must choose between her Western lifestyle and the traditional values held by her parents. We will also see Home, awarded at the Venice IFF, in which young Kevin returns from a juvenile detention centre to find himself in the middle of a family battle between the generations.
