Audible Glow
The event will be highly illuminating! More precisely, the Audio Art Festival is tailored for people with enlightened minds and ready for musical experiments. This year’s 24th festival (18-20 and 24-27 November) features bold installations and sound machines straight from SF films. The project Snare Box makes us feel as though we were on the film set of the latest Batman movie. The work by Robert Knuth and Sebastian Mac is a turning sound sculpture driven by the flutter of wings of dusky “bats” trapped in semi-translucent boxes. Michael Vorfeld’s Light Bulb Music is exactly what it says on the tin, while Daniel Davidovsky’s The Bike Ensemble Project is perfect for cyclists with its myriad twisted sounds. Judy Dunaway’s Manual Eardrums is a playful, avant-garde composition for latex balloons serving as instruments. This year’s events will be held at Bunkier Sztuki, Cricoteka, Academy of Music and Żarówka Cafe. (Artur Jackowski, "Karnet" magazine)
