In the engineering portrait, a "bloodstream" of a city, invisible in everyday life, is brought to the foreground. It consists of networks distributing water, electricity and gas, of paved streets and buses or tramways running on them; it includes sewer pipes that carry sewage out of our sight.
At the exhibition one can learn about a few chosen aspects of urban engineering in Krakow and their development from the Middle Ages to the present time. Original objects, models, historical photographs, articles and films portraying modern city encourage the visitor to think about the relation between engineering solutions and quality of life in the city and everyday activities of its citizens.
