We will hear piano and forte, lento and vivace, dolce and furioso, and always con amore! On Saturdays throughout the summer, come along to the courtyards of Wawel Castle for the 9th Wawel at Dusk Festival. The cycle of concerts on the royal hill has a well-established rhythm. On 2 July, the four-hour marathon by young pianists leads us to the official opening: the arcaded courtyard resounds with Chopin’s Piano Concerto in E minor, Beethoven’s Symphony No. 7 and a composition commissioned especially for the festival from the young Cracovian composer Zofia Dowgiałło. Musicians include the soloist Szymon Nehring and the CORda Cracovia Orchestra under the baton of maestro Antoni Wit. The following concerts are at the smaller Stefan Batory courtyard: we will be moved by Slavic Lyricism (9 July), taste the Feast for Four Guitars (16 July) and surrender ourselves to the Energy of Melodies and Rhythms for four hands on piano (23 July).

In August, there are three more low-key evenings in store: Katarzyna Oleś-Blacha and Stanisław Kufluk enchant with the operatic Double bel canto (6 August), the clarinet duo of Andrzej Godek and Barbara Borowicz will be Playing (with) Sound (13 August), and the pianist Krzysztof Książek demonstrates the Power of Chopin and Romanticism (20 August). During the finale at the arcaded courtyard (27 August), Mozart’s dazzling Concerto in C major for flute and harp features Łukasz Długosz and Małgorzata Zalewska, and the CORda Cracovia Orchestra performs Mozart’s Serenata notturna and Bartók’s Divertimento for string orchestra. The entire event is overseen by Maestro Łukasz Borowicz.
