Family Business
They don’t just look good in group photos: they’re a very close family. The Kings of Leon, formed of three brothers Followill (Caleb, Nathan and Jared) and their cousin Matthew, have been playing together as one of the most popular rock groups since 2000. Even the band’s name has family links, Leon being the name of the brothers’ father and grandfather.
The Followills have come a long way from playing in their basement to filling huge concert venues. Their breakthrough was their 2008 album Only By The Night, featuring the singles Sex On Fire and Use Somebody, which earned the quartet a huge popularity.
Currently, the young Americans are working on their seventh studio album. All four have returned to their native Nashville, where they rented an old house where they are enjoying the peace and quiet to compose new material. The 175-year-old house is the perfect setting for the boys to make sure the music has its distinctive, rough-around-the-edges quality. We’re hoping to hear some of the brand new compositions during their live performance on 8 September at Tauron Arena Kraków. (Artur Jackowski, "Karnet" magazine)
