This season presents the greatest classics for a cinema exclusive experience featuring the Bolshoi principals and corps de ballet. Four classical ballets (La Sylphide, Don Quixote, La Bayadère and The sleeping Beauty) will be presented along with the beloved Christmas tale The Nutcracker and the jazzy ballet The Golden Age, that can be seen only at the Bolshoi. Carmen Suite-Petruska, Edward Clug’s new creation will close the season, with two very popular characters. The Bolshoi remains the unshakable reference of ballet today.

Wielu choreografów sięgało i nadal sięga po baletową wersję tragedii Williama Shakespeare’a. Nowe spojrzenie na historię kochanków z Werony w choreografii Aleksieja Ratmańskiego, byłego dyrektora baletu Teatru Bolszoj w latach 2004–2008, obecnie choreografa rezydenta American Ballet Theatre, nie przenosi opowieści w inny czas czy miejsce, a jedynie wyostrza dramaturgię. Barwne kostiumy i inspirowane włoskim malarstwem dekoracje dopełniają obrazu kolorowej, zalanej upalnym słońcem Werony, która niespodziewanie staje się miejscem bardzo intymnej tragedii młodych zakochanych. W tych rolach występują gwiazdy moskiewskiej sceny: Jekaterina Krysanowa i Władisław Łantratow.
