Lokator continues the best traditions of Kraków café-clubs. The first place to operate under the name opened on Krakowska Street in 2001. It quickly became the meeting place for young literati, mostly thanks to its owner PIO, that is, Piotr Kaliński. Besides meetings with authors, it was the venue for all-night-long events involving the literary milieu. Having moved to Mostowa Street, Lokator presents a more composed, albeit not less attractive, face. It is a café and bookshop with works that would be hard to find in large chain stores and a very careful selection of literature for children. PIO Kaliński runs his graphic workshop here. An integral part of the whole initiative is the publishing house that turns out books by authors such as Nicolas Presl, Georges Perec, Fernando Pessoa, Ida Linde, Jerzy Franczak, and Marta Eloy Cichocka.
